I finally took the plunge and installed Crouton on my Asus 302CA Chromebook. This lets me run a linux system alongside ChromeOS. This is probably better than doing some sort of dual boot setup for what I’m likely to do. This lets me run my Hugo static blog on my Chromebook. Maybe it will mean I post more often. Which is funny. You and I both know this is wishful thinking.
So I ended up installing Ubuntu 16.04 with a Gnome desktop. I’m not yet sure if that was a smart decision. We’ll see. So now it’s a matter of finding a Markdown editor I’m happy with (using Atom right now) and actually writing more. (psst.. I’m actually already thinking Vim may be a better choice than Atom for what I’m after - minimal friction to get writing).
