It’s a Dog’s Breakfast

It is what it is. Unless it ain’t.

  • Present to Myself... aka Lenovo P53

Well I went and did it. The keyboard on my 4 year old Dell Inspiron 15 had been going south for a while and was unusable without a separate keyboard. So a few weeks back I started researching laptops and decided on a Lenovo P53 workstation laptop.

  • Well this happened..

This past Friday I married a beautiful woman who I love. It was a tiny ceremony (two witnesses, my daughter and us - as small as we could make it.) It was wonderful, as is she.

  • Crouton!

I finally took the plunge and installed Crouton on my Asus 302CA Chromebook. This lets me run a linux system alongside ChromeOS. This is probably better than doing some sort of dual boot setup for what I’m likely to do.

  • Midlife Crisis

The real question is, does it really count as a mid-life crisis? I have been very heads-down at work this year. It’s not some new found vim and vigour. It’s just that we’ve had a steady stream of large projects that have required a lot of steady effort and upkeep.

  • A Not so Hot Take

You can’t seem to get through a single day lately where someone hasn’t been accused of being a creep to someone else. You nod slowly and knowingly when it’s someone with opposite views than you, and gasp surprisingly when it’s someone you admire.

  • Fiddling

I have been fiddling with this here weblog - specifically updating and simplifying things. I’ve chosen a new theme called Kiera. It’s still simple and clean but the text is larger and more easily readable - and yes, my old eyes have something to do with the choice.
