1.5 years. Wow. New record.
Updates? Sadly, my Dad passed away back in May of 2025. And to add insult to injury, we had to have our dog Bertie euthanized in January earlier this year. The last year has been a struggle in so many ways. But tackling all of those challenges with my wife alongside made every step of it so much easier and more bearable.
It wasn’t all bad news. My daughter just graduated and is hopefully on her way to being a teacher (and whatever else she finds on her path through life). Very proud Papa I am. :-)
It’s Canada Day today and I have to say that despite the past year or two and all its challenges and despite (or because of) the turmoil in international affairs, I have never felt more fortunate and proud to be Canadian. We have an intelligent federal leader who also appears to be a decent human being. Who’da thunk that could work. You know where to look for the exact opposite.
I also managed to get my blog posting workflow a little more modernized and streamlined. So there might be more frequent posts here going forward.
